Hello! It is exciting being a part of Bethel Ministries. I was born and raised in Sanford, Florida and in the Assembly of God church. Growing up, I loved to sing in church and in the Glee Club at school and, since the age of 16, have directed church choir and have been playing the piano in church.
In 1984, my husband Jim and I were transferred to Maryland from Florida where we both worked for Digital Equipment Corp. In 1988, we were blessed to adopt our son, Andrew Scott, and we proceeded to spoil him rotten (sorry Andrew) but are proud of the young man he has become. While working for Digital, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and in 2002, I left the corporate world and became the music teacher for Bethel Christian Academy.
As fate would have it, in 2005, Dr. Green asked me to move from the school to become his assistant administrator and I am very thankful for this opportunity to work in this capacity. It has been a blessing working at Bethel and being a part of such a wonderful congregation.
Since I’ve been at Bethel, I was a Royal Ranger’s leader of the Straight Arrows (now Ranger Kids), volunteered as co-leader of the Women’s Ministry, and I was the leader of the Forever Young senior’s group. Currently, I am working as a leader in the Girls Ministries with the Prims and Daisies.
As anyone who is around me long knows, I still have “Florida sand in my shoes” and look forward to retiring back there one of these days.
